It was sunny this morning, and it looked like it was going to be a nice day. We've been working with Cam on crawling, and consonants, and after babbling to him yesterday like idiots, it may have paid off 'cause today he started using consonants back at us. Whew-hooo!
Then, we went to lunch at Assortie again (near our apartment), then walked up the street to the City Museum to kill our lunchtime. Lots of artifacts of dinosaurs and ancient civilizations (including military costumes, arrows, swords, knives and the like), and history of the mining in the town, and a long hallway where an early 20th century, WWII-era exhibit - displaying military history on one side, and gulag history on the other. Back in the day, we read that there were five gulags in and around this region, and there were pics of internees, dissidents, and barbed wire to prove it. It was a sad story. Oxanna told us our apartment building was built by Japanese internees around WWII. Sometimes when renovation to old apt buildings is being done, they'll find old Asian newspapers and other artifacts in the walls.
When we came out, it was raining like crazy, so our afternoon was spent mostly indoors. It was a slow news day for our boy, so forgive us if we only have one pic of him today. We were focused on working with his crawling, and babbling.

On the way home, we stopped to get some green peppers from a streetvendor to make "Connie's Spanish Rice" for dinner! (yum)
