Can't trust that day

Monday itself hasn’t been bad, but the attempts to get on the internet have been even more futile than usual.  We’re having one heck of a time getting connected, so pics may have to come later, assuming I can even get this posted.

Did the usual Baby House routine, but we weren’t able to go outside due to the weather.  In fact, they asked me to put long sleeves on Cam (mind you it’s still 80 degrees inside) b/c they were worried he’d catch cold.  The Karaganda summer has been unseasonably cool and today it rained.  In fact Dr. Lubov told Brent that he probably got sick b/c he always wears short sleeves.  (I’m sure it doesn’t have anything to do with the mucus that he’s been wiping from Cam’s nose for the last 11 days)  We are going to make an effort to see if we can find some sort of sweatshirt or jacket that fits him (Brent).  He’s sorry he didn’t bring one along.

Cam is really working on crawling.  He’s up on all 4’s and he scoots his bottom back and forth as though willing it to move will make it so.  He also lies on his belly and makes every effort to get to toys by kicking his legs and reaching really far with his hands.  Sometimes, he does actually move and get the toy he worked so hard for.  This afternoon, I had him in the walker and took a toy that he was interested in and had him follow me around the room.  He can really move quickly in that thing when the motivation is there.  He’s not so good with establishing the direction, but he’s getting there.

Some other folks here from Indiana who are adopting a 16 month old went to court this morning and had a positive outcome.  They were glad – this is their 8th child (5 bio kids and now 3 adopted – 2 from Kaz and 1 from Mongolia) and when they had their social worker appointment here there was some debate about whether they could adopt this child since they have 7 kids.  It seemed odd since it’s not like this was news to anyone before they got here.

We watched “The Truth About Cats and Dogs” last night – cute movie.  Brent spent this afternoon watching “Gattaca”.  We’re going to brave the weather and head to the grocery to get more baby supplies.  I used the last wipe this afternoon.

That’s all the news that’s fit to print.  More tomorrow if we can get online.  I’m sure Brent will have an update on all of his DVD watching.  Poor guy!
