Nothing else has happened. Really. we'll have to see what the rest of the day holds for us, once the little guy wakes up from his morning nap and we have some walking-around time.
Parents think wistfully of the park and blue skies.
Here are some pics from a few days ago.Tom, Dima, Kathy (our travel partners) and Buff and Cam taking a break in the park.

The plaza in Central Park; there's cotton candy, beer, pop, trampoline rides, whirl-a-wheel, and a ferris wheel. If your kids are old enough, they rent out little electric cars the kids can drive around in.

We all met up with Birgit & Max for a walk around the lake and later stopped at the outdoor cafe in Central Park for some brew & shish-ka-bob two nights ago.
Birgit & Max, Elena (they adopted 2 yrs ago) & Toby (their newest addition, also from Nezabudkah).

You have gained a child and lost the right to sleep when and for how long you wish. Many parents have found the two go hand in hand. When they are young, sore teeth or bottom can be the culprit. Sixteen years from now, it will more likely be due to the first time (or the second or the third) Cam is out "with the car." However, it is our experience that most parents survive, especially if they can give some "nap relief" to each other. You will certainly survive this and so much more, but is good to hear you report the things, like lost sleep, that officially mark you as parents---probably much more officially than any of the papers that will shortly be conferred. We start every day with this blog; we appreciate the time and insight you put into it. Love, Aunt Sue and Uncle DIck
Oh, the good ol' days, I don't miss them at all! Here's a trick Heather taught me: soak a corner of a washcloth in water and then put it in the freezer. When Cam's teeth hurt he can use the cold, nubbly part to chew on, and the rest of it is not disgusting and weird for him to hold in his hands. I used to keep two or three at the ready when the boys were teething. Orajel didn't work too well for us, either. Put some in your mouth and see how it tastes :) We also used frozen waffles, but those might be harder to find over there.
Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us! I love seeing the new pictures every day and can't wait for my first Cam snuggle. Love to all, Frances
